Epic Games released Fortnite: Save the World in July 2017 and soon rolled out a Battle Royale version of the title. Both games have since attained massive success in their respective genres.
It is worth noting that gaming is a constantly evolving industry. The preferences of people change with every new game, which significantly affects the existing titles on the market.
For instance, Fortnite dethroned PUBG to become the most popular Battle Royale game in the world. However, the game’s user base decreased after EA and Activision released Apex Legends, and Call of Duty Warzone, respectively.
Hence, it is safe to assume that Epic Games will now expand the Fortnite universe to more genres of gaming. This might be an amalgamation of Battle Royale and Save the World, or even MMORPG.
Epic Games can create a Survival MMORPG out of Fortnite
Despite being a Battle Royale title, Fortnite has maintained a complex storyline over the years. It revolves around the Zero Point on the map, and several villains like Galactus and Devourer have tried to harness it. Accordingly, the game hosts live-events for the players through which they can better understand every change that is introduced in the meta and the island.
Twitch streamers, SypherPK, TimTheTatman, and Nickmercs, believe Epic Games might be working on a new Fortnite game already. Considering the game’s rich storyline and vast user-base, it seems like the most logical decision for the developer.
The trio of Fortnite veterans clutched an Arena victory and discussed the possibility of ‘Fortnite 2’ in a recent video:
“They got like NPCs, like bosses, and then they got the loot pool. They have everything right now that they can make an incredible, in my opinion, MMO out of Fortnite,” claimed TimTheTatman.
“Matter of time!” agreed Nickmercs.
Roblox and Minecraft owe their success to Creative Mode
Roblox and Minecraft released almost a decade ago, but are still two of the most played games in the world. The biggest reason behind the surprising success of both these titles is the Creative mode in both the games. Building your own games is a concept that attracts gamers of all age groups. Furthermore, the process to enhance your creativity and take on a fresh building project never gets boring.
Epic Games certainly realizes this and has been actively working to improve the Creative mode in Fortnite. It has even incentivized the players to create mini-games and bring new genres into the Battle Royale game. From the looks of it, Fortnite will emulate Roblox and Minecraft in the years to come and will recreate the success of such classics.
