Ever since Roger Federer lost the ‘RF’ logo, fans have been eagerly waiting for its return to where it genuinely belongs. Overall these years, most of the apparel belonging to Federer had that logo printed on it. The ‘RF’ logo became a trademark for the Roger Federer brand.
Around a week ago, Roger posted a video on Instagram stating that he has re-acquired the rights of the logo. On receiving this news, his fans went into a frenzy. It’s been well over two years now that the Swiss had been without the logo, as Nike was the legal heir to it.
Roger Federer: “Something I’ve been waiting for a while now”
Recently while speaking to Roger, about the feeling he has on acquiring the ‘RF’ logo back, he said, “Look, obviously I’m very happy. It’s been something I’ve been waiting to happen for a while now. I always knew that with Nike it would come back. In the short term, I just tried to get it back sooner for the fans and now that it’s here, I’ve been working with Uniqlo for some time now to get it back. They are a great company. Their inputs have been wonderful. The style, look, and the process was great.”
The former Wimbledon champion stated that he was happy with Uniqlo and the work they’re doing. They’ve already started making umbrellas and caps with the logo printed on it.
Federer also revealed that his parents are really thrilled about receiving this news and seeing the reaction from fans. He also added, “For me personally, I’m very proud of it. My parents are going crazy with all my fans knowing about it coming out. On December 8 it is officially going to be launched. It’s exciting times because it’s an iconic fan piece for all the people in the Tennis community who have supported me over all these years.”
As Roger gears up for the Australian Open 2021 and simultaneously acquiring the ‘RF’ logo, these are exciting times for all Roger Federer fans.
