Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie Have Reportedly Been in Touch Throughout Their Pregnancies
Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie may now be physically separated by a continent, but the two royals are apparently emotionally closer than ever after bonding over their mutual pregnancies.
Two weeks ago, Princess Eugenie welcomed a son named August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank. And just days later, Meghan revealed she was pregnant with her second child, after previously suffering a miscarriage last July. A family friend told People that while the back-to-back baby announcements might seem like the two royals were stepping on each other’s toes a little bit, the pair have actually been in contact throughout their respective pregnancies. “They would have known about each other’s due dates,” the source explained. “These times tend to bring families together. What is lovely is Eugenie having her baby as Harry and Meghan are having theirs. They are very close. And they are all deciding to go their own route.”
Of course, Eugenie and Meghan’s intimate friendship makes perfect sense even without the overlapping pregnancies, as Prince Harry and his cousin have always shared a special bond. According to the book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, “Eugenie had always been more than just a cousin to Harry. They were also the closest of friends. Out of all the Queen’s grandchildren, Harry and Eugenie have one of the most natural connections. Like Harry, Eugenie is loyal, honest, and great fun. The two had many nights out together in London.” It goes on to say, “Harry had always confided in his cousin when it came to the women in his life. Not only did he trust her implicitly, but friends say that she gives great advice and has always been ‘beyond wise’ for her years.”
