Justin Bieber Reveals He Left Hillsong Church Due To Carl Lentz Scandal And Isn’t Going To Be A Minister
Justin Bieber has left Hillsong NYC following the sex scandal of the one-time pastor-to-the-stars Carl Lentz. Lentz, who had become somewhat of a celebrity in his own right, spent a great deal of time with Justin Bieber and his now-wife, Hailey Bieber, during their teen years. He was credited with offering spiritual support to Bieber during some of his most difficult times during his young adulthood, when he struggled with fame, success, and his own, inner turmoil.
Justin turned to social media to release an in-depth statement about his association with Hillsong NYC, the church that has since removed Carl Lentz from any leadership role prompting Lentz to admit his sexual failings that included cheating on his wife Laura to his nearly half-a-million Instagram followers. His statement followed reports that he was studying to become a minister and lead the church now that Lentz has been given the boot.
Justin wanted to make certain that people didn’t believe the false reports and he also specified that he is a member of LA’s Churchome, not Hillsong NYC. Justin stated the following and chose to type in all capital letters to emphasize his point.
IM NOT STUDYING TO BE A MINISTER OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT. HAVE NO DESIRE FOR THAT THIS IS FAKE NEWS. AND BTW HILLSONG IS NOT MY CHURCH… FOR CLARITY I AM A PART OF CHURCHOME

Justin Bieber was close to Carl Lentz for many years. There are many photos and videos of Justin being in Carl’s home and Carl attended his wedding to Hailey. As soon as the scandal broke, back in early November 2020, Justin and Hailey unfollowed Lentz on social media but hadn’t spoken publicly about the issue.
This marks the first public statement Justin Bieber has released on the matter.
