Undefeated prospect Casey O’Neill took to social media to hype up UFC fans as she prepares to make her promotional debut. ‘King’ will test her undefeated record against Shana Dobson who’s showing up with an upset win in her last fight. Dobson defied the odds and defeated Mariya Agapova to claim one of the biggest upset wins of 2020 on paper.
Chiefly, Casey O’Neill looks to solidify herself in the women’s flyweight division as a bonafide contender. Moreover, the fight takes place on the preliminary card for UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis and comes in as a marquee event. The card features several interesting match-ups and serves as a good opportunity for a newcomer to make an impression on the fans.
With her last session in, the Australian will be keen to bring the prowess she’s shown at 115-pounds to the 125-pound UFC division. The divisional queen Valentina Shevchenko has held the weight class in a vice grip ever since she’s captured the belt. There are contenders who are in line for contention to face ‘The Bullet’. However, a few impressive wins could bring the 5-0 newbie to the front on the line.
UFC flyweight: Casey O’Neill
‘King’ O’Neill is undefeated across her professional career and has accrued one KO, One Submission win, and three wins by decision. Her amateur career got off to a rocky start with 2 straight losses, however, she hasn’t lost since going 5-2. A large chunk of her early career has been fought out at Eternal MMA and her jump to UFC competition speaks volumes about her talent.
The 23-year-old prospect trains out of Xtreme Couture MMA and recently wrapped up a stint over at the Performance Institute. The gym has seen several greats including founder Randy Couture, Miesha Tate, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin, and other titlists. Casey O’Neill will be keen to add her name to the list of greats hailing out of Vegas.
She’ll have to be wary of going up against Shana Dobson who has proven that she can’t be counted out. Although Dobson has suffered several early pro-career losses, she has recentered herself and is looking to make a credentialed run.
