Undefeated Shakur Stevenson will return to the squared-circle on December 12 against Toka Kahn Clary in a 10-round headliner at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Following a KO win against Felix Caraballo in June, Stevenson is clearly the favorite in the upcoming match up. However, we need to know a lot more about Toka Kahn before billing him as the ‘underdog’.
The 28-year-old has been a professional boxer for eight years and boasts of an impressive record of 28 wins (19 KOs) and 2 losses.
Despite that, Kahn has never fought for an actual belt. Although he has won the NABA and USA titles, he is still far from bagging the bigger straps.
A fight against Shakur Stevenson will clearly advance him in that race. But, he needs to overcome his undefeated adversary for that. As we move closer to the featherweight thriller, here’s some details to Kahn’s boxing career.
Shakur Stevenson’s upcoming opponent, Toka Kahn Clary is a BEAST
Nicknamed ‘T-Nice’, Toka Kahn is riding a three-fight win streak. He has beaten Jonathan Perez via TKO in October and is already up for Shakur Stevenson.
What further excites the fans are, both the pugilists are southpaws and Toka Kahn might be the anti-dote to Stevenson’s invincible dominance. ‘T-Nice’ is under the Top Rank banner now and is one of the promotions promising superstars.
Before turning professional, he had a good amateur run which saw him win Silver at the 2009 National Golden Gloves. So, it’s bizarre to just write off his chances against an alarming Shakur Stevenson.
Here are some statistics about ‘T-Nice’, as per Box Rec
The Liberian born boxer stands at 5’6″ and has a reach of 72.5″. Thus, he is good at hitting from the distance.
After suffering his maiden loss of professional career, Toka Kahn Clary went undefeated for 17 fights straight until facing his second loss. But he regained his position with a three-fight win streak and is now ready for the biggest test of his pro-career in ‘Fearless’.
Will he be the winner against Shakur Stevenson?
