World No.4 Dominic Thiem is the most popular tennis star to emerge out of his country, Austria. Apart from his on-court exploits, Thiem has associated himself with many charity events and donated money for noble causes over the years.
Now, Thiem will give voice to a project called BioBienenApfel, which aims to raise awareness on the importance of bees to our ecosystem and create habitats for bees in Austria and Germany.

Notably, Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel will be one of the ambassadors alongside Thiem for the initiative. Being highly revered in their respective countries, Thiem and Vettel’s support will boost the efforts of the social project.
Interestingly, the presentation of the initiative with all its ambassadors will take place in Vienna next week. All the information related to the project’s objectives and roadmap will be laid out during the meeting.
The Instagram account of BioBienenApfel recently posted a picture of Thiem with their hashtag #beepart. The Austrian ice hockey player, Marco Rossi, is will also headline the initiative.

Last year, Thiem donated his entire prize money from the Adria Tour to the Children’s Cancer Research Institute in Vienna. Ahead of the 2020 Australian Open, the 27-year-old also took part in the Rally for Relief alongside other top players to raise funds for the Victorian Bushfire appeal.
Meanwhile, after suffering two back-to-back early exits at Qatar Open and Dubai Open, Thiem skipped the 2021 Miami Open to reset his form. Moreover, just a few days back, Thiem also announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Monte Carlo Open, which marks the inception of the European clay-court season.
