DaBaby Says It’s “All Love On My End” After Unintentional JoJo Siwa Diss

Feb 22, 2021

DaBaby had to set the record straight after fans misinterpreted one of the lyrics in his latest track “Beatbox Freestyle” that seemed to suggest the rapper has a bone to pick with JoJo Siwa.

At one point in the song, the rapper holds up a picture of the YouTube star to the camera while saying, “JoJo Siwa, bitch / She let the wrong n— get rich.” The unusual namedrop immediately drew the attention of fans who were curious what specifically the children’s entertainer had done to draw the ire of DaBaby. After seeing all the speculation on social media, the rapper decided to address the fictitious beef head-on, writing, “I love Twitter bruh,” with a string of crying laughing emojis.

He clarified that the line was not meant to be a literal reference to Siwa but rather a play on words as his real name is Jonathan, hence JoJo, and Siwa sounds like a drawled pronunciation of “see why.” DaBaby went on to address the singer directly, explaining that his toddler daughter is the real reason he had Siwa’s name on his mind. “@itsjojosiwa my 3 year old princess is your number 1 fan,” the rapper tweeted. “I bought her every product you have out. She think she you. Don’t let them trick you into thinking i’d ever have a problem with you. My word play just went over their heads. All love on my end shawty, Keep shining,” adding a heart with a bow. He then poked fun at the rest of his fans who misinterpreted his lyrics, writing, “I ‘Siwa’ I’m not like the rest of you,” and in response to another commenter wrote, “I don’t ‘Siwa’ they so mad either bae.”
